What Is The Best Time To Visit Mirissa Beach?

The weather in Mirissa has warm temperatures through most of the year, given the humidity and infrequent chances of rainfall.
The hottest part of the year is May, April, followed by March, with the temperature swinging between 31.8°C in early May during the day and night temperature being 26.1°C. The months of January, February, and March encounter the lowest possibilities of receiving rainfall.

The Mirissa winds are usually hushed, with June-July and then May being the windiest months. Therefore, the most happening and the best time for visiting Mirissa Beach is December, followed by October and August, with less crowd in June.

How Can You Get To Mirissa?

The most common mode of transportation to reach Mirissa from wherever you stand in Sri Lanka is by using public or private vehicles. The train and bus are the most convenient public transportation methods. 

Depending on which direction you’re coming from, the closest train stations are Weligama (5 miles) and Matara (7.5 miles). From these stations, you can take a taxi or a tuk-tuk to Mirissa. The bus is usually the most cost-effective option and runs more often than the train.

The next way to reach Mirissa Beach is to take a domestic flight. The nearest airport to Mirissa is Koggala. And from Koggala, you may have to take a taxi to reach your destination.
